Within the REEPRO project it was planned to build and operate community showcases with different thematic areas like Biomass and wood gasification, Biomass stoves, Solar Home Systems, Solar hot water systems, Solar cookers and others. The intention was to establish – within the overall framework of community training – live showcases, which are the results of practical training activities and complement the theoretical lessons within the community and technician training courses, further enabling project replication. These pilot projects were also served as showcase for the level 2 and 3 training courses.
Overall 7 project communities were selected in Cambodia.
Project communities are:
- Orphanage commune - Kampong Thom Province - Implementation of a Solar Home System
- Kampong Chhnang - Encouraging the operation of a solar battery charging station
- Phreak Chrey commune - Kandal province - Development of concepts for the implementation of Solar Home Systems
- Svay Rieng Province - Encouraging the operation of family biodigester in the frame of the National Biodigester Programme
- COMPED training centre - Phnom Penh - Implementation of a Solar Home System and a family biodigester
- Takeo province - encouraging the operation and implementation of family biodigester in the frame of the National Biodigester Programme
- ITC campus - Phnom Penh - Implementation of a Solar Home System and an absorber based solar water heating system
Overall 5 project communities were selected in Lao PDR.
